Join The HOWL! Festival in Tompkins Square Park June 3, 4 and 5!
The Allen Ginsberg Poetry reading starts 5pm on Friday June 3 on the main stage, Avenue A and 7th Street: hosted by Bob Holman with 20+ poets including Hettie Jones, Ed Sanders, Julie Patton, David Henderson, Steven Taylor, Miguel Algarin, Bob Rosenthal, Eliot Katz, Andy Clausen all reading their own work and a group reading of HOWL.
Following the reading, please come to our HOWL ! Opening Night After Party at Bar 82 (Second Ave and St. Marks) from 7:30pm to 10:00pm, co-hosted by The Allen Ginsberg Trust, The Bowery Poetry Club, and The Poetry Project: Birthday Cake will be served! Suprise guests!
On Saturday June 4th and Sunday June 5th come to Tompkins Square Park from 11am to 7pm and experience: live action painting Art Around the Park, (artists may sign up now here: artpark@howlnyc.org.), musical and theatrical performances on two stages: Ed Sanders and Steven Taylor, Tyler Burba and his band Visit, Arthurs Landing, John S. Hall, The LIVING THEATRE, Rosies Theatre Kids, Naropa inspired Open Air Poetry Readings on the lawn (poets please sign up at: poetrycircle@howlnyc.org), all day activities for children at The Great HOWL ! OUT LOUD Carnival (Avenue A and 10th St), a HOT HOWL ! DISCO with DJ Johnny Dynell (Sat 1-4pm): dance outside under the silver ball, and to cap or crown the weekend off: LOW LIFE 5: SCREAMING QUEENS hosted by Jackie Factory’s Chi Chi Valenti and Johnny Dynell.
