Ted Enslin has passed. I read his work in the many volumes that Woodland Pattern Book Center had on the shelves in 1999 and then I met him at the Lorine Niedecker Centenary Celebration in 2003 (Milwaukee, WI). Everything about the LN Centenary was enchanting, but particularly the night Ted joined Mark Nowak, Lisa Jarnot, Robert Baumann and me at Landmark Lanes for bowling. He quietly sat and sipped red wine as we threw a lot of gutter balls! I love this poet and consistently return to his work when I feel like I’m “losing my ear.” Here is a link to the complete text of The Weather Within thanks to Karl Young. – SS
