Can you hear
(some precious pearl)
Them
Dragged
Up
Some precious pearl
(from the)
under
world
Can you hear
Them
Silence
Well that’s no surprise
In our defense
Quiet, angel
some precious pearl
Doesn’t matter
what they say
silence
some precious pearl
Don’t you cry
Can you hear
Them
Dragged
up
(from the)
under
world
Can you hear them
That’s when they’ll disappear
Well that’s no surprise
Look right through them
That’s when they’ll disappear
Doesn’t matter what they say
Doesn’t matter anyway
Can u c right thru them
Don’t you cry
That’s when they’ll disappear
Ah Ah Ah
Some precious pearl
That’s when they’ll disappear

Fascination(s) (s)(c)ites:
Keep feeling, not uttering
After Agamben and Akilah
This fascination of not uttering something absolutely.
–Agamben
Keep feeling fascination
–the Human League
(The Human League and Agamben might be onto the same thing)
In Other Words
So in other words, only feel it, don’t utter it, make the joy be what you didn’t think you wanted, make the words say what they mean, mean what they say, can you say what you want to say before you say it? Come on you can tell me. Say what you’re really gonna say. What do you mean you can’t really say what you’re really gonna say? I thought you could tell me anything before you told everyone else. How could that be different? You can’t take it back now, that’s what you said, you must’ve meant it. Then why did you say it?
What We Thought We (K)new
What we thought we realized. I don’t think we can get that back. Maybe nothing is irretrievable. What you can’t get back. Can you always get something back. Can you always do it again. I always wanted that golden sun on your favorite chrome storefront, but you can never get that glint back. I always thought, fully un-ironically what Cher intoned If I Could Turn Back Time. If I could get those sunlight glimmers back exactly. But I feel like the answer is always what it was. You know that I know that we know I will never get them back. Even if I tried to steal them or slip them in my pocket. They slid out of course or I was busted for shoplifting.

Bring it back
What about a concert gone slo-mo where my body won’t get crushed. I’d hear all the notes extended glamorous and echo-y. I’d get the meaning of the world right then in a mosh pit where’s there’s no mosh or pit to fall into, just a bottomless hole where I would never get hurt, flying on slo-mo metals that wouldn’t hurt my ears and getting the meaning of life forever, all at once. But of course I would never get that back. It worked for me once in the wee hours of 3:30 a.m. when I’m hardly awake, but I never dream. I would love to get that back, that which I never had, gliding on bars of smoothed out notes in echoes of all the secrets I ever wanted to know amen. Like when someone returns a book back to you that you thought you lost and you are just so glad to see it you forget to get mad at them for making you think it was gone forever.

What about the moment I glided on sunlite glints reflecting on-off the library, for a moment I knew everything, every factoid from every book. But of course I’ll never get that backwards or forwards. I’ll have to walk by there again to get what isn’t mine and will disappear after sunlight is over. Gone. Zip. On autoreplay. How many times did I hear this. Attn please! Attn please. The library is now closing. Please check out your books now. No further library services will be performed in the last 15 minutes. Atencion. Atencion. La biblioteca es cerrado…

Can you say that again? In this space everything is said again in the colloquial. What you meant is really what it was. “that’s really nice” “meant” it really, for once. All together now: Can You Hear Them? …Our Lips Are Sealed.
“Don’t look back.”
