An interdisciplinary multimedia evening with poetry, archival audio, music, and visual art tracing the development of Amiri Baraka‘s radical poetics, social praxis, civic presence, and relationships with avant garde communities through his time in several specific places. We’ll move through Baraka’s years near Cooper Square and the Five Spot, Cuba, Harlem, Gloucester, Naropa, and Newark. Hosted by William J.
