Dear Friend of The Poetry Project,
As The Poetry Project at St. Mark’s Church begins its 46th year, I would like to wish you a joyful holiday season. The Project’s mission to promote, foster, and inspire the reading and writing of risk taking work continues to be realized due to the commitment and generosity of our members and donors. We are taking a moment before the end of the year to ask you to consider a contribution to The Project.
Your gift of any amount will have a huge impact on our ability to sustain high caliber programming through our three reading series. However, if you contribute $50 or more you will receive a limited edition, letter-pressed broadside, designed and printed by Matvei Yankelevich at Ugly Duckling Presse. The poem “A Congressman Named Wiener Resigned Today” is by Ronald Sukenick Prize and Lambda Award winner Magdalena Zurawski. We think you’ll love it. Please follow this link to make a donation.
At The Poetry Project we maintain the belief that a poet reading her work to an open audience is a revolutionary act that is vital to our culture. Creating time and space for poets to do this work is at the heart of The Poetry Project’s existence. I hope that you will be able to join us for some of our upcoming events, and I wish you all the best in your endeavors during the coming year.
Warm Wishes,
Stacy Szymaszek
Artistic Director
